Job summary

Disney Growth, Commerce, and Identity Experience seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design and build secure, scalable client governance for Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+. You will collaborate with legal, privacy, product, and partner teams to shape identity and data governance across web, mobile, and living room devices.

You will contribute to cross‑platform, AI‑assisted development including policy-driven features, privacy controls, and analytics governance in a fast-paced media tech environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, or equivalent work experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to write clean, maintainable, scalable code.
• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript; experience building client-side features in web or device environments.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and working with state management patterns.
• Familiarity with authentication and authorization concepts.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or equivalent).
• Experience with testing frameworks for unit, integration, and/or end-to-end coverage.
• Strong cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, development, and successful deployment of medium-to-large size software solutions, ensuring performance, quality, scalability, and security.
• Drive software engineering best practices, including design, code quality, security and testability within the team.
• Exhibit deep and broad technical expertise, with hands-on proficiency in key functional areas.
• Serve as a primary technical resource for the team, offering guidance on technical issues and new feature development.
• Participate in the design and delivery of features that integrate with LLM-backed services, partnering with senior AI-application engineers.
• Help establish and refine team practices for using AI coding tools effectively and responsibly in day-to-day development.
• Solve complex technical problems with an innovative, can-do attitude.
• Conduct thorough code reviews, focusing on requirements, design, readability, and optimization.
• Mentor and guide the work of less experienced engineers.
• Document technical details for features, fixes, and projects.
• Communicate complex technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
