Job summary

Okta is seeking a Staff Identity Engineer to act as a technical authority within the internal IAM team, driving architecture and execution of the identity fabric. You will champion Customer Zero, partnering with product engineering to deploy Okta's newest features internally before global release, while mentoring engineers and shaping platform decisions.

The role requires ownership, urgency, and the ability to simplify complex problems.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing, implementing enterprise IAM solutions.
• Hands-on with Okta environments, OIE, and APIs.
• Experience with SAML, OAuth, OIDC, and MFA controls.

Responsibilities

• Drive Customer Zero execution and early internal adoption of Okta features.
• Own lifecycle, policy design, and federation for enterprise tenants.
• Mentor engineers and set engineering standards across teams.
• Lead automation-first initiatives for identity controls and audits.
• Govern security and compliance with SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners on identity security metrics.
