Job summary

Okta's Identity Team seeks a Staff Identity Engineer to act as a technical authority in our IAM group, driving the identity fabric and championing Customer Zero internally before global releases. You will own lifecycle design, adaptive MFA, federation (SAML, OIDC), and multi-cloud IAM guardrails; mentor engineers and set standards while aligning with SOC 2, ISO 27001, and FedRAMP.

• 4+ years hands-on experience designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise IAM solutions.

Responsibilities

• Drive Customer Zero execution by adopting and maturing internal capabilities before global release.
• Own lifecycle design, policy, adaptive MFA, and federation for enterprise tenants.
• Architect and enforce cloud IAM guardrails across AWS, GCP, and Azure; build API-based automation workflows.
• Mentor engineers, review IAM designs, and set engineering standards across the organization.
• Collaborate with Security, Audit, and Compliance to ensure identity controls meet SOC 2, ISO 27001, and FedRAMP.
