Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital is seeking an RN for the Progressive Care Unit to provide high-quality, patient-centered care on a night shift. You will assess and plan individualized care, work with a multidisciplinary team, and advocate for patients and families throughout the care continuum.

The role requires 1 year of ICU or acute care RN experience, a valid RN license, and BLS; ACLS is required within the first year. This is a full-time night shift position based in Akron, OH.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN) - required.
• One year of ICU or acute care RN experience - required.
• Current state RN license; BLS required; ACLS within first year.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a given patient population.
• Complete ongoing assessments and recognize changes in patient condition.
• Develop and update goals, involving patients and families in care plans.
• Coordinate the interdisciplinary plan of care and serve as a patient advocate.
• Administer treatments and medications, and document care provided.
• Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes.
• Delegate tasks and serve as a resource person for the team.
• Review and document progress and discharge goals with patients and families.
• Communicate information regarding patient care and outcomes during shift report.

Requirements

Education

Experience

• One year of current ICU or acute care RN experience in a hospital setting - required

Licenses & Certifications

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within the first year of employment
