Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Concord, NC seeks an ICE Gear Drive & Damper Technical Specialist to drive the design and analysis of high-performance engine subsystems. You will direct gear drive, damper and bearing systems, while coordinating testing, reliability, and integration with external partners.

Expected to mentor junior engineers, lead design reviews, and ensure milestones align with cost and performance targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in high-performance engine components or racing environments.
• Proficient in gear drive and damper design, tolerancing and simulation tools.

Responsibilities

• Direct the design and analysis of engine gear drive systems and auxiliaries.
• Lead damper design and analysis across GMPPU projects.
• Guide bearing selection and roller bearing design criteria.
• Define testing requirements for performance, reliability and quality.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in design reviews.
