Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking Senior ICA Engineers to own control and automation requirements for water and wastewater schemes from feasibility through commissioning.

You will author URS and control philosophies that become the basis for system integrators, contractors and clients. Collaborate with process, mechanical and electrical engineers, ensure designs follow standards, and support testing, commissioning and tender evaluations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience writing URS for water or wastewater assets.
• Proven experience writing control philosophies for process plant.
• Strong ICA design background within the water industry.
• Good understanding of PLC, SCADA, telemetry and instrumentation systems.
• Experience reviewing integrator documents and FAT/SAT.
• Knowledge of DSEAR and CDM regulations.
• Confident when working with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the writing of User Requirement Specifications for water and wastewater treatment works, pumping stations and network assets.
• Write and review control philosophies that set operating modes, sequences, interlocks, alarms and fail-safe behaviour.
• Collaborate with process, mechanical and electrical engineers and client operations teams to capture and challenge requirements.
• Ensure designs follow client automation, telemetry and SCADA standards.
• Prepare and review ICA deliverables including instrument schedules, I/O lists, datasheets, specifications and control system architecture drawings.
• Review system integrator FDS against URS and control philosophy.
• Attend factory and site acceptance testing for control panels, PLC/HMI software and SCADA, and support commissioning.
• Support tender evaluations, bids and scoping of ICA work packages.
