Job summary

Advanced Integration & Controls is seeking a skilled engineer to lead and support automation system design for water and wastewater projects in California. You will interpret project plans, select instrumentation, design control panels, and develop wiring and I/O schematics, BOMs and submittals.

You will collaborate across Project Management, Production, Purchasing, Field Services and other departments to meet budget, schedule and quality objectives, supporting startup and commissioning

Qualifications

• Experience with PLCs and SCADA systems.
• Ability to read process and instrumentation diagrams, electrical schematics and construction drawings.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to negotiate, persuade and work collaboratively with customers and staff.
• Self-motivated and able to work autonomously and manage workload to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Participate in lead review meetings during Pre-Sales and Initiation phases to assess project scope, constraints, risks, customer requirements and resource needs.
• Develop and maintain project-specific work breakdown structures and cost setup forms.
• Translate customer specifications into defined engineering scope and deliverables.
• Prepare detailed engineering documentation including single-line diagrams, panel elevations, wiring schematics, and BOMs.
• Prepare and submit submittal packages for Electrical Distribution and Controls and Field Instrumentation.
• Create Interconnect and Loop Diagrams to support installation and commissioning.
• Review factory and field test plans and apply redlines to reflect as-built conditions.
• Provide training plans and compile O&M manuals.
• Coordinate with Automation Engineering, Production, and Field Services to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software systems.
