Job summary

Broadcom is seeking an IC Validation engineer to validate storage and PCIe switch silicon in lab environments, collaborating with hardware and software teams across pre and post-silicon stages.

The role involves developing embedded C/C++ firmware, Python automation, and test scripts, plus debugging system-level issues, reading schematics, and supporting customers during silicon bring-up and integration.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or 5+ years with a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering.
• 3+ years industry experience with C/C++ embedded firmware and/or system drivers/host applications.
• Experience developing/debugging Python-based automation scripts.
• Working knowledge of ARM architecture and firmware programming; Linux environment experience.

Responsibilities

• Construct, review, and execute robust validation test plans on emulation platforms and prototype silicon.
• Develop C/C++ based embedded firmware and host software tools for low level system validation.
• Develop test scripts to control protocol exercisers and automate validation tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with software, FPGA Emulation, and IC Design teams in pre/post silicon validation.
• Assist board development team with validation and reference designs.
