Job summary

Stellantis is seeking an Engine Performance Simulation Engineer to analyze and optimize engine performance. The role emphasizes dynamometer testing or simulation to improve fuel economy, leveraging IC engine modeling expertise and 1D CFD tools.

The candidate will lead model development, calibration, and control strategies, mentoring junior staff and driving innovation in engine performance methodologies across testing environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ABET accredited or equivalent).
• Minimum 7 years' experience applying advanced 1D CFD tools to IC engine combustion simulation and optimization.
• Thorough knowledge of English (written and spoken).
• Strong analytical/technical background in engine performance data, fluid flow, heat transfer, and numerical methods.

Responsibilities

• Air path model development and simulation.
• Turbocharger system modeling.
• 1D core engine performance modeling and development.
• Cold and Hot end lines.
• Sensor locations.
• Catalyst light off strategies.
• Fuel map generation.
• Combustion system model development.
• Control strategies and logic.
• Identify gaps in engine modeling methodologies and develop plans for development.
• Fast run model and real‑time model development for virtual control.
• Follow up on team progress and review technical reviews.
