Job summary

AeroVect is hiring a Principal Engineer for Autonomy, the senior-most IC in the autonomy team, reporting to the VP of Engineering. You will own deep technical work across Perception, Prediction, and Planning, influencing the full autonomy stack with strong execution and cross-stack collaboration.

You will lead design and implementation of perception, prediction, and planning components, driving end-to-end system coherence and real-world deployment on vehicles.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of hands-on experience building production autonomy systems.
• Shipping autonomy components that have run in production on real vehicles at scale.
• Experience as the most senior individual contributor in an autonomy organization.
• Deepest technical depth in perception, prediction, or planning.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals in C++ and Python.
• Fluency with modern deep learning for autonomy.
• Experience with ROS/ROS 2 and real-time on-vehicle compute.
• Bias for execution; you ship and convert plans into running code.

Responsibilities

• You are the senior-most IC in autonomy, owning deep technical ownership of Perception, Prediction, or Planning and influencing the rest of the stack.
• Define the cross-stack interfaces and coordinate with other senior engineers to maintain end-to-end coherence.
• Own the autonomy architecture and the functional/software architecture across the autonomy stack.
