Cox Automotive Inc. is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to design, develop, and support complex software systems critical to business operations.

You will provide deep technical expertise across the IBM iSeries and RPG platform, lead modernization efforts, and guide cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions. The role requires extensive hands-on development, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to serve as a trusted advisor to technical and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 6+ years developing, supporting, and maintaining enterprise software.
• 6+ years of experience with IBM i systems and RPG development.
• 4+ years of experience supporting complex integrations and critical business systems.
• Experience with AI technologies for SDLC and day-to-day activities.
• Strong understanding of software architecture and secure coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, testing, documentation, and support of complex software systems.
• Drive RPG development, modernization, and enterprise integrations.
• Lead Level 3 production triage and incident resolution.
• Collaborate with product teams and stakeholders to deliver technical solutions.
• Establish engineering standards for quality, security, and reliability.
• Present designs and recommendations to leadership and peers.
