Job summary

Uline, a family-owned company and North America’s leading distributor of shipping and packaging materials, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to keep IBM i systems running seamlessly in Pleasant Prairie, WI.

You will design, optimize and support mission-critical IBM i infrastructure, partner with teams on deployments, and drive continuous improvement. This on-site role offers a collaborative culture, strong benefits and opportunities to mentor the systems team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or computer science.
• 10+ years of experience with IBM i technologies (CL, HMC, network config, BRMS, data replication, HA/DR, and performance tuning).
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and customer service skills.
• Uline does not participate in the H-1B lottery.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operation and performance tuning of IBM i environments with security and policy alignment.
• Manage backups, disaster recovery and high-availability solutions.
• Partner with application and database teams on deployments and troubleshooting.
• Plan and execute system upgrades, migrations and capacity planning.
• Maintain clear documentation of configurations, procedures and policies.
• Mentor and support the systems engineer team.
