Job summary

LightEdge Solutions in Des Moines, IA seeks an experienced IBMi – Sr Engineer to design, implement and support IBM iSeries (AS/400) platforms with a focus on reliability and performance.

You will administer Power environments, manage BRMS/FSFC/VTL backups, coordinate HA with MIMIX or iTerra, and provide Tier-3 support across teams in a 24/7 on-call environment. This role requires a deep IBM i background and leadership in enterprise settings.

Qualifications

• At least ten years hands-on experience in IBM Power environment and related networking.
• Experience with replication or HA software like MIMIX or iTera is required.
• Knowledge of IBM iSeries security best practices and OS/400 system administration.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and support various aspects of the IBMi (iSeries-AS/400) platform.
• Maintain and deploy IBM i OS upgrades and PTF installations.
• Design and maintain IBM i backups using BRMS, FSFC, and VTL.
• Set up BRMS software and enterprise tape library architecture (save/restore).
• Configure Full System Flash Copy (FSFC).
• Knowledge of MIMIX or similar replication software.
• Provide Tier-3 support for operations and applications teams.
