Job summary

Uline in Pleasant Prairie, WI is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to own and optimize IBM i infrastructure. You will design, implement and support mission-critical IBM i environments, ensuring high availability and peak performance.

You will lead backups, DR planning, capacity upgrades and collaborate with application teams to troubleshoot deployments and performance issues. On-site role with a strong emphasis on reliability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in IT, CS or related field.
• 10+ years of hands-on IBM i experience including CL, HMC, backups, data replication and HA/DR.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operation, monitoring and performance tuning of IBM i environments, ensuring systems remain secure, up-to-date and aligned with IT policies.
• Manage backups, disaster recovery and high-availability solutions.
• Partner with application and database teams on deployments and troubleshooting.
• Plan and execute system upgrades, migrations and capacity planning.
• Maintain clear, accurate documentation of configurations, procedures and policies.
• Mentor and support the systems engineer team.
