Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to lead the CSIAM effort, architecting authentication, authorization, and account management at scale for hundreds of thousands of workforce users and hundreds of millions of customer interactions.

You will set multi-year security strategy, mentor engineers, and collaborate with senior leaders to align security with business goals while delivering scalable, secure solutions across contact channels and services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non‑internship background in troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating complex tasks using command line tools experience.
• 5+ years of work in identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans experience.
• 5+ years of (non‑internship) scripting, programming, and security code review in common programming languages experience.
• Knowledge of at least two of the following programming languages: Scala, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go
• 5+ years of industry‑based experience in security vulnerabilities identification, attack patterns, and remediation techniques (non‑internship) experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
• 5+ years of non‑internship work across at least 5 of the following security domains: application security frameworks, security code reviews, incident response, security infrastructure, penetration testing, mobile security, cloud security, AI security, or identity and access controls experience

Responsibilities

• Own the multi‑year security strategy for CSIAM and set technical direction for authentication and authorization across channels.
• Lead design and delivery of scale security solutions with resilience and correctness for Amazon's customer service org.
• Define authorization models for customer and agent interactions and governance.
• Serve as senior technical leader and escalation point for complex security problems.
• Evaluate emerging security technologies and reduce risk at scale.
• Communicate security risk and strategy clearly to executive and technical audiences.
• Influence partner organizations and leadership on security priorities and trade‑offs.
• Mentor security engineers and raise the bar across the organization.
