Job summary

University of California, Berkeley seeks a Senior Identity and Access Management Manager to lead the CalNet IAM teams. The role focuses on reducing institutional risk through monitoring, response, and architectural decision-making in a complex environment.

You will be recognized as the campus IAM architecture expert influencing access controls and security across IT systems. The position requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and a deep understanding of authentication technologies,

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of enterprise IAM concepts and technologies including SSO, MFA, PAM.
• Experience leading IAM programs and services in large organizations.
• Understanding of authentication, federation, identity governance, and modern access management.
• Ability to manage technical staff and managers and to communicate across stakeholder groups.
• Familiarity with relevant security frameworks and regulatory considerations.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for IAM services.
• Develop and monitor strategic plans, budgets, staffing, and space planning.
• Oversee IAM policy development, standards, and governance across campus.
• supervise IAM teams and ensure reliable service delivery and incident response.
• Collaborate with ISO leadership on privacy, security, and compliance initiatives.
