Job summary

Audubon is seeking an I&E Design Specialist, Senior to join our Metairie, LA team. You will supervise and manage instrument and electrical design assignments and personnel, ensuring accurate drawings, BOMs, and specifications while driving cost savings and project efficiency.

The role requires extensive field experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and PDMS, and leadership of multi-person teams across offshore and onshore projects in the oil, gas, and chemical sectors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of technical software used in the discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience preferred.
• AutoCAD experience required; PDMS experience preferred.
• Microsoft Office experience preferred.
• SPI (Intools) experience preferred.
• Field experience required.
• Experience in offshore oil & gas, hydrocarbon storage/transport, chemical manufacturing or refining.
• Small/medium project lead experience required; large project lead preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise medium to large teams producing instrument/electrical design deliverables.
• Manage team productivity, assignments, and performance with input to hiring/dismissals.
• Interview candidates, train personnel, and deploy work techniques.
• Plan work and budgets for self and team members.
• Prepare complete design packages including preliminary, conceptual, and construction deliverables; perform engineering calculations.
• Create detailed drawings of parts and assemblies with projections and standards.
• Perform sizing and electrical load calculations (cable/conduit sizing, voltage drop).
• Develop control circuits for instrument components and relays.
• Review and optimize instrument applications and functions; verify drawings for accuracy.
• Prepare BOM, procurement lists, and specifications; implement revisions and ECOs.
• Assemble information from multiple sources and ensure compliance with standards.
• Assist with field surveys and documentation; identify cost-saving improvements.
• Interface with clients, subcontractors, and vendors; manage project scope and schedule.
• Maintain file management per standards and project budgets.
• Prepare O&M manuals and proposal sketches using CAD tools.
