Job summary

Audubon Companies is seeking a Senior I&E Designer to join our Metairie, LA team. You will design instrument and electrical systems, prepare detailed drawings, and develop control circuits for components and motors, using AutoCAD and PDMS.

You will perform load calculations, create BOMs, and support ECO processes while collaborating with clients and vendors. The role requires strong drawing interpretation, field experience, and the ability to manage design revisions within budget and schedule

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s Degree from a Technical Institution preferred.
• 7+ years of experience preferred.
• AutoCAD software experience required.
• PDMS software experience preferred.
• Microsoft Office software experience preferred.
• CARS software experience preferred.
• Field experience preferred.
• Experience in oil & gas, onshore gas processing, hydrocarbon storage and transportation, chemical.
• Manufacturing or refining industry required.
• Small/Medium project lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed drawings of parts and assemblies from layouts, designs and working drawings.
• Interpret verbal or written direction to initiate a preliminary design.
• Perform sizing and electrical load calculations such as cable sizing, conduit sizing, voltage drop, and cable tray calculations.
• Develop or assist in the development of control circuits for instrument components and motors.
• Perform lighting photometric calculations and control.
• Prepare BOMs and specifications when drawings are complete and revise as changes occur.
• Implement revisions and change control per company standards.
• Assemble information and reference drawings from various sources.
• Look for product improvements and cost reductions.
• Determine and initiate drawings/models based on optimal views.
• Assist with field surveys and determine design solutions.
• Check field red-lined drawings and generate as-built drawings.
• Review and assist in O&M manuals.
• Design components or portions of systems and modify existing designs.
• Use 2D/3D CAD to create layouts and fabrication drawings.
• Create documentation to process ECOs.
• Utilize sketches and specifications in design verification.
• Identify dimensions, angles, tolerances and materials.
• Analyze proposed changes for fit and interference and propose solutions.
• Produce drawings within project schedules and budgets.
• Maintain proper file management.
• Interact with clients, subcontractors and vendors.
