Job summary

Redtree Engineering is seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer to lead the design of control systems for distributed generation and district energy projects, including electric, steam, and cogeneration facilities. You will own major deliverables and mentor junior engineers while interfacing directly with clients.

The ideal candidate holds an ABET-accredited degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering with 6–8 years of EPC experience and strong knowledge of

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• 6–8 years of relevant engineering experience; EPC project experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation and control system design principles, practices, and industry standards (ISA, ANSI, IEEE).
• Experience developing or reviewing P&IDs, loop diagrams, and instrument data sheets.
• Willingness to travel to project/construction sites as needed (20%).

Responsibilities

• Lead design of control system architecture, I/O lists, logic diagrams, and P&ID coordination.
• Develop instrumentation design deliverables and data sheets.
• Create wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and interconnection drawings.
• Coordinate P&ID development with process and mechanical teams.
• Perform instrumentation sizing calculations for valves, sensors, and thermowells.
• Support FAT/SAT activities and vendor submittal review.
• Provide technical support during construction and commissioning.
• Serve as client contact on defined I&C scope.
