Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a seasoned electrical and instrumentation/controls engineer for the Fermi Nuclear Generating Station project in Newport, MI. The role focuses on design review, system integration, and client coordination to deliver robust control solutions for nuclear plant instrumentation and control systems.

Candidate will lead design activities, mentor junior staff, and travel regularly to the Fermi 2 site, contributing to safety, reliability, and project success in a dynamic energy

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Five+ years in I&C design engineering.
• Experience with equipment selection, control philosophy, and design package preparation.
• Experience with control systems for turbines, pumps, feedwater, and data displays.
• Experience as a client liaison or lead engineer; design document reviews.
• PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate design documentation and calculations.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers on projects.
• Interface with clients and vendors to review specs and spendings.
• Develop and review procurement specs and equipment selections.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.
