Job summary

American Society of Interior Designers seeks two I&C Design Engineers for onsite work in Aiken, SC. You will support instrumentation and controls design for nuclear or process chemical facilities, producing P&IDs, control logic, and DCS/PLC outputs while following established procedures.

Lead problem solving, plan schedules and budgets, and guide peers to deliver quality results. Qualifications include 10+ years in I&C design, experience with PLCs and DCS, and DOE clearance eligibility; onsite

Qualifications

• Ten years of direct I&C design experience within last 15 years in nuclear or process chemical industry.
• Design experience with process control instrumentation, PLCs, and distributed control systems.
• Proficiency with MicroStation 2D CADD software.
• Ability to perform weekly field walkdowns, including traversing uneven surfaces and climbing ladders.
• Ability to work onsite on a 4x10 schedule.
• Active or attainable DOE Q or L clearance, with Q required for area access.
• Active eFOCI registration and approved Facility Level Clearance with DOE/NNSA for the subcontractor.

Responsibilities

• Define scope for technical programs and develop effective, quality solutions to complex problems.
• Lead problem solving and provide guidance to peers to ensure quality and timely outcomes.
• Prepare plans, schedules, budgets, and personnel requirements for assigned tasks.
• Develop and review design output documents including P&IDs, control logics, loop diagrams, and instrument indices.
• Conduct field walkdowns and support design development and generation of design outputs.
• Communicate results to customers, colleagues, and management; prepare external reports when required.
