Job summary
The AES Corporation is seeking a Manager for Automation, SCADA, Instrumentation & Electrical Control Systems to act as the owner’s technical authority for integrated automation and generation control strategies at a large power facility. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, oversee DCS/SCADA systems, and ensure reliability, cybersecurity, and lifecycle readiness across plant operations.
This role requires deep expertise in control architectures, strong vendor management, and proven leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
- 10+ years in power generation controls or industrial automation.
- Leadership of multidisciplinary teams and complex projects.
- Experience with DCS/PLC, SCADA/DCS, and protection interfaces.
- Strong written, verbal, and stakeholder management skills.
Responsibilities
- Own and maintain integrated control strategy for facility.
- Lead engineering team across SCADA, DCS, instrumentation, and protection.
- Govern architecture, interfaces, deviations, and risk.
- Direct vendor and contractor oversight from design through commissioning.
- Ensure lifecycle support, cybersecurity, and testing readiness.
- Lead FAT/HIL/SAT and acceptance activities.
