Job summary

Intersect is seeking a DCS and Automation Engineer to design and own unit and plant‑level automation architectures for our utility‑scale energy and data center assets.

You will serve as technical authority for instrumentation and control design, integrating through DCS, PLCs, and SCADA, while collaborating with internal teams and external EPCs and OEMs to deliver reliable, high‑performance automation across a growing fleet.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related.
• 10+ years in control systems engineering, plant automation design, and system integration in power/gen or industrial settings.
• Experience with DCS architectures and PLCs; familiarity with OEM systems (CAT, GE, Woodward, Solar) and industrial protocols.
• Strong collaboration, leadership, and ability to review/control engineering artifacts (P&IDs, control narratives, I/O lists).

Responsibilities

• Architect unit and plant-level DCS/PLC control architectures, hardware specs, and network topologies for utility-scale facilities.
• Lead integration of unit controllers into plant-wide DCS/SCADA networks and configure OPC UA, Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850.
• Review instrumentation & control deliverables from EPCs/OEMs and validate FAT/field commissioning.
• Collaborate across process, mechanical, electrical, commissioning and operations to align safety, cyber, and workflows.
