Job summary

Stratolaunch is seeking an level II or Sr-level Test Engineer to support the environmental test team in Mojave, CA. This role covers environmental and functional testing of avionics components contributing to the Talon hypersonic vehicle programs during ground and flight tests.

The successful candidate will contribute to test planning, execution, failure analysis, and the overall validation of hypersonic vehicle systems, coordinating testing and travel to test houses as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 2–5 years relevant experience
• Experience with environmental tests at component level and systems integration
• Experience or knowledge of launch vehicle/aircraft electrical systems
• Ability to obtain DoD security clearance
• Experience with test instrumentation design and data processing

Responsibilities

• Create environmental test plans, procedures, and reports
• Conduct environmental tests onsite and offsite
• Coordinate testing and travel to test houses as required
• Perform failure analysis and generate recovery plans for test failures
• Maintain environmental test equipment and instrumentation systems
• Familiarity with DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461 standards
