Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Senior Hydrologist for the Cortez operation to lead environmental compliance and mitigation activities related to site dewatering. This role focuses on protecting water quantity and quality while coordinating with Dewatering Team and corporate hydrology groups.

You will manage monitoring programs, report results, and liaise with Federal, State and Local stakeholders to ensure adherence to regulations. A strong safety record and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in hydrology, hydrogeology, geology, or environmental engineering.
• 3–5 years of verifiable experience in hydrology or related fields.
• Experience with dewatering systems and modeling.
• Knowledge of Nevada water rights and regulatory compliance.
• Strong communication and independently driven work style.
• Proficiency with data management and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Prevent, identify and mitigate water quantity/quality impacts per plans.
• Coordinate with Dewatering Team and Corporate Hydrology.
• Interpret monitoring results and prepare reports.
• Develop, implement, monitor, and report mitigation activities.
• Liaise with Federal, State and Local stakeholders.
• Ensure QA/QC data collection and reporting.
• Lead Environmental Engineers, Coordinators, Technicians.
• Assist with planning, design, budget, and oversight.
