Job summary

Dewberry Engineers Incorporated is seeking an experienced Hydrologist to join our Resilience Solutions Group. The role focuses on inland hydrology and hydrometeorology to improve water resources engineering, planning, and design.

You will apply expertise in hydrology, statistics, and risk analysis to design advanced scientific workflows and cloud-based systems. Collaborating with engineers, planners, scientists, and software developers, you will deliver data-driven resilience solutions for

Qualifications

Candidates must demonstrate knowledge and expertise in performing complex hydrologic analysis.
Experience in hydrologic modeling with 5+ years in the industry.
Experience calibrating and validating event and continuous hydrologic models (HEC-HMS, WRF-Hydro, SWAT, VIC, PRMS, HSPF).
Experience obtaining, manipulating, and verifying meteorological data from multiple sources.
Familiarity with Bulletin 17C flood guidance and HEC-SSP.
Knowledge of statistical modeling and simulation for hydrologic data.
Experience in GIS for visualization and data QC.
Coding with Python; strong writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead or support technical needs of diverse hydro projects across municipal, state, and federal markets.
Develop analytical approaches to meet project requirements.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for integrated project delivery.
Participate in client and public engagement meetings.
Develop reports and present findings to clients.
