Job summary

Dewberry seeks an experienced Hydrologist to join our Resilience Solutions Group, focusing on inland hydrology and hydrometeorology to improve water resources engineering, planning, and design.

You will develop advanced scientific workflows and cloud-based systems, collaborating with engineers, planners and software developers to deliver data-driven resilience solutions for federal, state and local clients.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in civil engineering with a concentration in water resources, hydrologic science, or atmospheric science.
• 5+ years of experience in hydrologic modeling.
• Experience with event and continuous hydrologic models such as HEC-HMS, WRF-Hydro, SWAT, VIC, PRMS, HSPF, with 5+ years HEC-HMS development.
• Experience obtaining, manipulating, and verifying meteorological data from diverse sources.
• Familiarity with Bulletin 17C and applying it using HEC-SSP.
• Knowledge of statistical modeling and atmospheric data.
• Experience in GIS for visualization and QC of geospatial data.
• Coding capabilities with Python.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Leverage expertise in hydrologic analysis to lead or support technical needs across municipal, state, and federal markets.
• Lead or contribute to analytical approaches to meet project requirements.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams for integrated project delivery.
• Participate in client and public engagement meetings.
• Develop reports and deliver presentations to clients.
• Show subject matter leadership and contribute to professional publications.
