Job summary

Weston & Sampson is seeking a Hydrologic & Hydraulic Project Manager with 5-10 years of experience. The role focuses on hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and design for stream restoration, flood mitigation, and climate resilience across New England locations.

Responsibilities include directing client communications, leading cross-disciplinary project teams, and supporting business development, proposals, and client outreach while mentoring junior staff. Travel to project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, or a related field (required).
• MS in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, or similar field (preferred).
• 5-10 years of experience in transportation or hydrology project management.
• 2+ years of experience managing hydrology-related projects.
• Strong understanding of hydrology and hydraulics principles and transportation infrastructure systems.
• Expertise with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, PCSWMM, ICM).
• Experience with floodplain analysis, stormwater design, and transportation infrastructure evaluation.
• Experience with permitting requirements of instream projects in the Northeast.
• Project management experience including scheduling, budgeting, and scope control.
• Strong business development, proposal preparation, and client management.
• Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) preferred.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct client communications on design, schedule, budget, and scope.
• Lead and coordinate project teams across multiple design disciplines.
• Develop long-term client relationships and pursue project opportunities.
• Support marketing, proposals, and client outreach.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and designers.
• Lead project teams delivering hydrology or transportation projects, including studies and final design.
