RFA Engineering is seeking a Senior Hydraulic Systems Engineer to join a client’s engineering team in the greater Chicago area. You will apply hydraulic expertise to support OEM customer applications, drive technical solutions, and collaborate across engineering and sales functions to deliver successful implementations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in hydraulic systems or mobile equipment.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic principles and components.
• Experience troubleshooting hydraulic systems and customer applications.
• Excellent communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while collaborating cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for hydraulic systems and customer applications.
• Collaborate with OEM customers and distributors to define equipment requirements.
• Recommend hydraulic products and system solutions aligned with performance objectives.
• Support new business opportunities through technical consultation.
• Assist with system optimization, product selection, and application development.
• Investigate and resolve complex customer issues through troubleshooting and RCA.
• Prepare technical presentations and customer-facing documentation.
• Support field testing, validation, and customer implementation activities.
• Work with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and sales teams to drive outcomes.
• Share knowledge and help develop engineering best practices.
• Travel ~20% domestically to support relationships and reviews.
