Job summary

Komatsu in Peoria, Illinois seeks a Senior Engineer - Hydraulics to lead and execute hydraulic system design and validation for mobile equipment. You will collaborate with controls, software and mechanical teams to deliver robust hydraulic architectures and integrate with vehicle networks, while driving Lean principles and Change Management across projects.

The role requires 12+ years in hydraulic design, a BS in Engineering (MS preferred), and proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink, AMESim or

Qualifications

Sound knowledge of fluid power fundamentals and controls technologies.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering; MS preferred.
12+ years' experience in engineering design with hydraulic systems.
Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink, AMESim and/or Automation Studio.
CAD tool proficiency desired.
Lean Engineering and Change Management experience preferred.
International assignments a plus.
Professional registrations or society memberships beneficial.

Responsibilities

Lead or perform engineering projects to develop, maintain and support components, systems, products and/or services per market demands.
Plan engineering evaluations with investigations, calculations and tests, with guidance only in controversial cases.
Provide conceptual and strategic solutions for engineering projects or evaluations.
Design and validate hydraulic systems supporting vehicle functions and integration with high‑bandwidth networks.
Collaborate with controls, software and mechanical teams on hydromechanical architectures.
Assist the project management team in developing the project plan and executing hydraulic design and validation.
