Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Hydraulic Structures Engineer in Baton Rouge, LA to provide technical leadership in structural engineering for building design projects. You will plan, develop, and supervise design activities and staff while contributing as a project manager on larger initiatives.

The role requires a PE license, 10+ years of relevant experience, and proficiency with RAM, ETABS, SAFE and AutoCAD. HDR values an active employee-owned culture and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 10+ years of structural engineering experience for building design.
• Professional Engineer license (PE) recognized in the position's location.
• Experience with structural software (RAM, ETABS, SAFE) and AutoCAD.
• Experience in design calculations and layouts.
• Ability to design and detail in steel, concrete, masonry and wood.
• Understanding of gravity and lateral analysis.
• Experience with an engineering consulting firm.
• Active participation in an employee-owned culture.

• Serve as a technical expert in structural engineering for projects.
• Plan and develop projects or design activities.
• Supervise work of staff of professionals and technicians.
• Serve as Project Manager on larger projects when applicable.
