Job summary

Parker Hannifin is seeking a Principal Engineer to act as a subject matter expert for axial piston variable displacement hydraulic pumps. You will lead design, development, and troubleshooting for advanced pump technologies, applying rigorous engineering principles and coordinating with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes innovative research, problem solving, and driving substantial product impact, with on-site attendance and participation in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical, aerospace, electronic, or systems engineering or related field (MS preferred).
• Ten or more years of related experience typical for the role.

Responsibilities

• Serves as technical authority for axial piston pump design and improvement.
• Lead technical strategy and decision-making for advanced pump technologies.
• Develops refined components, materials, and processes for assigned area.
• Communicates technical information and coordinates with other resources.
• Leads proposals and presentations to internal/external groups.
• Conducts analyses and tests; documents findings and results.
• Establishes performance standards from test data and evaluations feasibility.
• Investigates new technologies to improve cost and performance.
• Applies continuous improvement initiatives in engineering.
• Maintains knowledge through workshops and publications.
