Whitaker Companies is partnering with a client in Houston, TX to identify a Senior Infrastructure Engineer who will manage and modernize a complex hybrid IT environment. This hands-on role spans the full technology stack—Azure cloud, on‑premises infrastructure, virtualization, networking, security, and data center operations—and requires a generalist who can drive modernization initiatives across teams.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering or related role.
Strong experience supporting Microsoft technology environments.

Responsibilities

Manage and support hybrid infrastructure environments consisting of Azure cloud and on-premises systems.
Administer Microsoft 365 technologies, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Intune.
Support Azure services, identity management, security controls, and cloud infrastructure initiatives.
Maintain and optimize Citrix environments.
Support VMware infrastructure within a highly virtualized environment.
Manage server infrastructure, storage platforms, and data center operations.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve networking and security systems.
Lead and participate in infrastructure projects and modernization efforts.
Ensure infrastructure reliability, performance, security, and scalability.
Develop and maintain infrastructure documentation, standards, and best practices.
