Job summary

BDP International in Houston, TX is seeking a seasoned Infrastructure Architect to lead the technical direction of our technology platform. This senior individual contributor role focuses on hands‑on architecture across cloud, on‑premises, DevOps/platform, and security domains.

You will own high‑impact technical decisions, set standards and patterns for the broader engineering organization, and serve as the go‑to expert for infrastructure strategy.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive infrastructure engineering experience with architecture decisions at scale.
• Hands‑on expertise with two or more cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP); cloud certifications preferred.
• Deep knowledge of networking fundamentals: routing, switching, BGP, firewalls, TLS/PKI.
• Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation) and source control workflows.
• Experience architecting and operating Kubernetes in production at scale.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to produce architecture documentation for senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to design for high availability, security, and compliance in enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Define and own enterprise infrastructure reference architecture across cloud, on‑premises, and hybrid connectivity.
• Lead evaluation, selection, and lifecycle management of infrastructure platforms and vendors.
• Design scalable, highly available, fault‑tolerant systems meeting SLA and RTO/RPO targets.
• Establish IaC standards and champion GitOps practices.
• Drive cloud migration roadmaps including workload assessment, re‑platforming, and cost optimization.
• Architect network topologies (VPCs, VPNs, SD‑WAN, DNS, load balancing, CDN).
• Produce ADRs, design docs, and reference implementations for the team.
