Knit is hiring for a senior AI engineer in New York City to shape the core of our platform. You will build and orchestrate AI agents, craft React/Next.js interfaces for safe collaboration with agents, and own an experimentation platform for prompts, evals, and drift detection.

You will collaborate with Product, AI, Design, and CS; mentor teammates, and push for performance and reliability. This role requires in-person NYC collaboration and ownership of critical architecture.

Formación

• Experience with LLM/agent systems, evals, and prompt tooling; RAG, embeddings, vector dbs.
• Deep knowledge of event-driven systems, streaming, and workflow engines.
• Observability expertise (OpenTelemetry/Prometheus/Datadog), feature flagging, or A/B platforms.
• Background in enterprise security and compliance (SOC 2, GDPR).
• Bias to action: short specs, small PRs, daily deploys.
• In-person collaboration: NYC hub; whiteboards > long threads.
• High ownership: you’ll touch product, talk to customers, and influence the roadmap.

Responsabilidades

• Own 0→1 and 1→N features across the stack, from design docs to data pipelines and FastAPI services.
• Architect and own the core agent orchestration engine with multi-agent LLM workflows.
• Build AI-native UIs with React/Next.js for safe collaboration with agents.
• Develop the experimentation platform: prompts, evals, drift detection, controls.
• Ship fast with reliable design docs, tests, dashboards, and alerts.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, AI, Design, CS and customers.
• Optimize latency with caching, model selection, vector search, and infra efficiency.
• Operate what you build: on-call ownership and incident response.
• Mentor engineers to raise team capability.
