Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Senior Project Lead Engineer to take technical ownership of complex HVDC projects and tenders. You will coordinate global multidisciplinary teams, act as the primary technical contact for customers and stakeholders, and lead engineering from development to testing and commissioning.

The role emphasizes quality, on-time delivery, and adherence to contract scope while advancing modern power transmission technologies.

Qualifications

• Work authorization to work in US or Canada.
• University degree in engineering (Electrical or related).
• 5+ years of experience in a similar technical leadership role.
• HVDC experience is a plus.
• Ability to coordinate engineering activities across project teams.
• Experience supporting customers and stakeholders throughout project lifecycle.
• Ability to deliver high‑quality technical deliverables.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical contact with customers.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities and ensure complete information.
• Guide development of technical solutions for HVDC projects and tenders.
• Drive engineering activities within schedules, budgets, and contractual commitments.
• Provide technical support for testing, installation, and commissioning.
• Prepare project documentation and ensure deliverables are completed.
• Support adherence to safety standards and mitigate project risks.
• Ensure technical quality and compliance across contracts and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations and guidelines.
