Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Test Lab Manager to lead the HVAC test laboratory operations, ensuring safety, accuracy, and efficiency. You will oversee testing programs, data integrity, and compliance with AMCA, AHRI, and ISO standards, while supporting product development and engineering initiatives.

Strong leadership and lab automation expertise are essential. The role requires 5+ years in engineering, a bachelor’s degree, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field, or equivalent.
• Demonstrated leadership with supervisory responsibilities.
• Experience as a test engineer: test plans, execution, data analysis, reports.
• Expertise with data acquisition, instrumentation, and lab automation.
• Strong project management and documentation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to engage stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operation of the HVAC test laboratory ensuring safety and compliance.
• Oversee airflow, acoustical and electric heat testing per AMCA, AHRI, ISO standards.
• Develop, maintain, and improve testing procedures and best practices.
• Analyze test data for accuracy and propose corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot equipment and facility issues to minimize downtime.
• Support engineering teams in prototype development and testing.
• Plan and manage multiple projects with budgets and timelines.
• Lead, coach, and develop laboratory staff.
