Job summary

Skilled Trades Partners in Columbus, Ohio is seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Service Technician for a direct-hire role with an expanding local contractor. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial systems while staying hands-on in the field.

The position provides a clear leadership path, mentoring of junior techs, and a pathway to a future General Manager role, with strong emphasis on teamwork, customer service, and continuous operational training.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of HVAC service, maintenance, and/or installation experience.
• EPA 608 Type II or Universal certification required.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Residential and light commercial HVAC experience.
• Lead Technician, mentoring, or supervisory experience preferred.
• Interest in growing into a future management/General Manager position.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• ServiceTitan or similar field-service software experience is a plus.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial HVAC systems.
• Perform seasonal maintenance, system inspections, and equipment change-outs.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical HVAC issues.
• Communicate with customers regarding system issues, recommended solutions, and pricing.
• Accurately document service calls and completed work.
• Mentor and support other technicians.
• Assist with scheduling, customer concerns, and day-to-day service operations.
• Support installation crews and fellow technicians as needed.
• Participate in ongoing technical, leadership, and operations training.
