Job summary

The Chronicle of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking an experienced facilities technician to maintain and operate the HVAC and utility systems across a large campus.

You will manage boilers, refrigeration equipment, pumps, and building automation to ensure reliable operations. Candidates should have an AAS in refrigeration or equivalent, with at least five years of HVAC maintenance experience, and possess required licenses or be prepared to obtain them within the specified timeframe.

Qualifications

• Five years in mechanical maintenance and operation of HVAC systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Licenses: Illinois Driver's license, Stationary Engineer, Refrigeration, Pool Operator (within 1 year).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate campus-wide HVAC and related utilities.
• Prioritize and respond to tasks across a 1.5M sq ft facility.
• Inspect equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and document work.
