Job summary

McLeod Health in South Carolina is seeking an experienced HVAC&R technician to maintain and troubleshoot complex building systems, including boilers, chillers, pumps, air handling units, and energy management platforms. You will document tests, repairs, and root causes, ensuring compliance with AHJ and hospital policies.

Under supervision, the role ensures safe operation of equipment and completes repairs and alterations as required.

Qualifications

Minimum of 15 years of experience maintaining commercial/industrial HVAC, Ventilation and Refrigeration systems.
In lieu of an Associate Degree/Apprenticeship, 20 years of experience will be accepted.
Must be at least 21 years old with a valid SC driver’s license.
EPA Refrigerant Recovery Certification.
NATE Excellence Level, HVAC Excellence or ASC Journeyman Unlimited A/C.

Responsibilities

Maintain building HVAC&R systems and associated equipment; log equipment performance.
Install, repair, troubleshoot, plan, modify and calibrate instrumentation for HVAC&R and energy management systems.
Modify and design change control circuits; install temporary components as needed; provide technical support to operators and other technicians.
Maintain firestop penetrations with UL-rated compounds.
Monitor and log performance of equipment and utility systems.
