Job summary

State of South Carolina seeks an HVAC technician to diagnose, maintain, test, overhaul, and repair commercial HVAC systems at the McEntire Joint National Guard base. You will perform preventative maintenance, change belts and filters, and troubleshoot air compressors and refrigeration equipment.

The role requires a high school diploma with trade experience, CFC certification, and a valid South Carolina driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent paired with HVAC trade experience.
• CFC certification is required for employment.
• Must possess knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, test, overhaul and repair HVAC systems at a government base.
• Perform preventative maintenance, change belts and filters, troubleshoot equipment.
• Operate welding tools to fabricate/repair metals and manage energy systems.
• Work under extreme weather and be able to lift 75 lbs; on-call responsibilities.
