Job summary

First Call Heating & Cooling – Oregon City, OR is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to diagnose and repair residential heating and cooling systems. The role involves on-site service in Oregon City with a focus on delivering excellent customer service and informed guidance on home comfort solutions.

The position offers a full-time schedule (Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM) with some evenings, weekends, and rotating on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years residential HVAC diagnostic and repair experience.
• Brazing certification required.
• EPA 608 certification required.
• NATE certification required within 2 years of employment.
• Low voltage license preferred or willingness to obtain within 2 years.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to diagnose advanced system issues and recommend appropriate repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on residential heating and cooling systems.
• Service and maintain gas and oil furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless systems.
• Troubleshoot difficult or unusual HVAC system issues.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers.
• Educate customers on preventative maintenance, repair options, and system accessories.
• Complete service documentation accurately and thoroughly.
• Collect payment on C.O.D. service calls as needed.
• Help resolve customer concerns and ensure a high level of satisfaction.
• Participate in assigned on-call rotation for emergency service.
• Support and mentor junior technicians when needed.
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Follow company procedures, safety standards, and supervisor direction.
