Job summary

ABM Industries in San Diego, CA is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician III to perform maintenance, repairs, and installation on HVAC and refrigeration equipment, chillers, boilers, and related systems. You will troubleshoot controls, train junior staff, and keep logs to meet client expectations.

The position requires 5+ years in HVAC (including chillers), a valid driver's license, a state HVAC license, and EPA Universal certification.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of HVAC experience, including servicing chillers.
• 1+ years of experience as an HVAC Journeyman.
• A valid state-issued driver's license.
• HVAC license in the state, county, or city jurisdiction in which work will be performed.
• EPA Universal certification.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, calibrate, and adjust pilots, thermostats, burners, transformers, controls, relays, heaters, elements, switches, and controls on electrical systems.
• Use common HVAC tools daily (multimeter, refrigerant gauges, charging charts, hand tools).
• Install, maintain, and repair ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
• Identify maintenance risks on equipment.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
• Clean, adjust, and repair systems, and perform warranty services.
• Perform emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
• Provide technical direction and on-the-job training.
• Keep daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
• Ensure compliance with appliance standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Comply with service standards, work instructions and customers' requirements.
• Assist with customer queries and inquiries.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
