Job summary

Lynchburg City Schools is seeking a skilled HVAC Craftsman II to join the Facilities/Maintenance team in Lynchburg, VA. Responsibilities include inspecting and repairing HVAC systems, calibrating energy management controls, coordinating with outside contractors, and upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ten years of HVAC experience across systems.
• Valid Master HVAC license or equivalent.
• Three+ years with Direct Digital Controls and BAS/EMS.
• Five years in facility maintenance/building construction.
• State license or certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Install, operate, and maintain the district's HVAC and energy systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on boilers, chillers, pumps, and related equipment.
• Inspect, repair, modify HVAC equipment including compressors and valves.
• Install and calibrate energy management controls and DDC.
• Oversee outside contractors and prepare cost estimates.
• Follow safety procedures and read plans/blueprints.
