Job summary

Kelso Industries in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician specializing in large commercial systems to join our service team. You will diagnose, repair, and optimize chillers, cooling towers, and associated equipment across busy facilities, with a safety-first approach.

The ideal candidate has EPA 608 certification, 3+ years of commercial HVAC experience, strong electrical troubleshooting, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

  • EPA 608 Universal Certification.
  • 3+ years of commercial HVAC experience.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting across low and high voltage.
  • Comfortable working independently with limited oversight.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and confined spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair large tonnage chillers — air‑cooled and water‑cooled — including centrifugal, screw, and scroll configurations.
  • Commission and start up chiller and controls systems, optimizing for peak efficiency.
  • Identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, and controls‑related issues.
  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on chillers, cooling towers, pumps, boilers, and supporting equipment.
  • Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
  • Keep accurate, timely documentation of all service work, repairs, and recommendations.
  • Communicate clearly with customers about system conditions, findings, and next steps.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements, EPA standards, and internal company policies.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and junior technicians when applicable.

Job Summary

We're looking for an experienced HVAC Technician with expertise in commercial systems to join our service team. Key Responsibilities

  • Hands‑on controls programming or commissioning background.
  • Prior experience in hospitals, industrial plants, or large‑scale commercial buildings.
