Job summary

Kelso Industries in Atlanta, GA is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician for our service team. You will diagnose, repair, and optimize complex commercial systems, including chillers and controls, with a safety-first approach.

Candidates need EPA 608 certification and at least 3 years of commercial HVAC experience, strong electrical troubleshooting, and the ability to work independently. A valid driver's license and physical ability to lift 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• EPA 608 Universal Certification is required.
• 3+ years of commercial HVAC experience; heavy chiller exposure preferred.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting across low/high voltage systems.
• Independent work with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC systems including VAV, VRF, RTUs, chillers, etc.
• Commission and start-up chiller and controls systems, optimizing efficiency.
• Identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, and controls-related issues.
• Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
• Maintain accurate documentation of service work and recommendations.
• Communicate system conditions, findings, and next steps to customers.
• Follow safety requirements, EPA standards, and company policies.
• Mentor apprentices and junior technicians when applicable.

Job Summary

We're looking for an experienced HVAC Technician with deep expertise in commercial systems to join our service team. In this role, you'll handle complex diagnostics, repairs, preventative maintenance, and system optimization across large commercial and industrial facilities. The right candidate brings strong technical instincts, a safety-first mindset, and a track record of delivering quality service.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair all types of commercial HVAC systems including VAV, VRF, RTUs, chillers, etc.
• Commission and start up chiller and controls systems, optimizing for peak efficiency.
• Identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, and controls-related issues.
• Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
• Keep accurate, timely documentation of all service work, repairs, and recommendations.
• Communicate clearly with customers about system conditions, findings, and next steps.
• Adhere to all safety requirements, EPA standards, and internal company policies.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and junior technicians when applicable.

Required Qualifications

• EPA 608 Universal Certification.
• 3 or more years of commercial HVAC experience with exposure to heavy chiller systems preferred.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting capability across both low and high voltage systems.
• Comfortable working independently with limited oversight.
• Valid driver's license in good standing.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications

• Factory certifications or formal training on major chiller manufacturers.
• Hands-on controls programming or commissioning background.
• Prior experience in hospitals, industrial plants, or large-scale commercial buildings.
