Job summary

Lee Mechanical is seeking a highly experienced Commissioning & Startup Superintendent to plan, coordinate, and direct startup, testing, and turnover for HVAC and mechanical construction projects. You will serve as the technical leader of commissioning operations, ensuring safe, efficient startups from installation through owner occupancy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in mechanical construction, HVAC service, startup, or commissioning.
• Extensive knowledge of commercial/industrial HVAC systems (chilled water, boilers, AHU, VRF).
• Current OSHA 30 Certification required.
• UA or SMART Union membership or equivalent union training/experience required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Procore project management software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead startup and commissioning activities across multiple projects.
• Develop commissioning schedules and manpower plans.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and develop startup and commissioning team members.
• Develop and execute commissioning plans for HVAC and mechanical systems.
• Coordinate equipment startups, performance testing, and integrated system testing.
• Coordinate activities with PMs, controls contractors, and commissioning agents.
• Lead owner training and turnover to the Service Department.
• Maintain commissioning logs, startup reports, deficiency logs, and turnover documents.
