Job summary

TDIndustries, Inc. is seeking a skilled Start-Up Technician to perform start-up, testing, and functional checks on newly installed commercial HVAC systems. You will ensure equipment operates per design specs, coordinate with vendors, and train junior technicians, while maintaining safety and compliance with applicable codes.

You will interpret drawings, troubleshoot, and support owner training, with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction while managing on-call duties and procurement tasks.

Qualifications

• EPA Certification is mandatory.
• 7+ years of experience.
• Ability to read blue prints, schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of NEC, Plumbing, Fire and Building codes is preferred.
• Coaching and mentoring skills.
• Budget activity understanding per job.
• Excellent presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs start-up and functionality checking on newly installed Commercial HVAC systems.
• Checks operation against specifications and codes.
• Works with subcontractors to ensure proper operation.
• Interprets drawings and identifies errors.
• Trains Start-Up Technicians and participates in owner trainings.
• Disassembles/reassembles equipment for troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Diagnoses HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical systems as per plans.
• Maintains status reports on work completed.
• Operates vehicles and tools safely; manages supplies.
