Job summary

Corvant is seeking an HVAC Startup Technician IV to install, start-up, and maintain HVAC systems in newly constructed commercial buildings. You will perform system tests, troubleshoot issues, and ensure energy efficiency after installation, while providing post-installation warranty support to meet specifications.

The role requires expert-level technical HVAC skills, 7–10+ years of experience, EPA certification, and the ability to mentor junior technicians.

Qualifications

In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, including electrical components, refrigeration cycles, and controls.
Ability to troubleshoot HVAC issues and perform diagnostic tests using specialized equipment.
Strong communication skills, particularly with clients, regarding service recommendations and system performance.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and installation guides.
Familiarity with local building codes, industry standards, and HVAC regulations.
Proficiency with HVAC tools and diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform start-up procedures on HVAC systems after installation, including checking electrical components, system controls, and refrigeration processes.
Test HVAC systems to ensure they are operating according to design specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
Monitor system performance to verify proper air flow, temperature control, and energy efficiency.
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with HVAC systems during start-up and warranty periods.
Perform routine maintenance, including filter replacements, system inspections, and refrigerant checks.
Work with the Start-Up & Warranty Manager to resolve more complex issues, offering recommendations for necessary repairs or adjustments.
Respond to warranty service requests, performing repairs or adjustments as needed based on manufacturer specifications and customer requirements.
Document work completed and submit detailed reports on service calls, including parts or systems replaced and follow-up steps.
Communicate effectively with customers regarding system performance and warranty coverage.
Ensure HVAC systems meet company standards for quality, safety, and performance before final acceptance.
Follow safety protocols and keep work areas clean and safe.
