Job summary

Stanford University, in conjunction with Residential & Dining Enterprises, seeks an HVAC Mechanic Specialist to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems. Under supervision, you will diagnose problems, set priorities, and advise other mechanics on complex tasks.

The role requires a journey-level apprenticeship with extensive HVAC knowledge, EPA certification, and a California driver's license. Monday–Friday, 7:45am–4:15pm, on-site in Palo Alto.

Qualifications

• Journeyman level apprenticeship with extensive trade experience.
• Specialist must have extensive knowledge of HVAC systems.
• High level TAB (testing, adjusting, balancing) skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex troubleshooting of HVAC systems and analyze function.
• Install, test, troubleshoot, maintain, and service HVAC instrumentation and controls.
• Adjust complex instrumentation to improve efficiency and energy use.
• Repair difficult components and customize parts for old systems.
• Recommend and implement proactive maintenance and safety measures.
• Install, modify, and repair air distribution systems.
• Write reports and certification documents when required.
